Henry Torres Artistic Director Lux Boreal Contemporanea Danza, Tijuana (Mexico) is a Native of Culiacan, Sinaloa. He began his studies in the Jose Limon Dance School in Culiacan, Sinaloa. He is a graduate of the 2nd generation of the Professional Dance School of Mazatlan which is directed by the Company Delfos. In 2000, he was the winner of the 2nd Choreography Award in Culiacan and obtained an honorable mention as best male dancer in the 1st Choreography Competition for Urban Spaces in Monterrey N.L. Mr. Torres has received the support of the National Funding of Arts and Culture in 2005 as interpreter and in 2005 as a young creator. He benefited from the State Funding for Arts and Culture of Sinaloa in 2001 as an interpreter and in 2004 as a Young creator. In 2009 he was selected by the Program towards Development and Artistic Creation of Baja California as a Creator. He’s worked with choreographers Claudia Lavista, Victor Ruiz, Jaime Camarena, Hector Chavez, Sarah Stackhouse, Allyson Green and Phillips Adams. He has created choreography for video, film and theatre. Founding member of the Company Lux Boreal of which he is Artistic Director. |
